TiviMate Clear Cache: Fix Loading, Freezing & Playback Problems

Quick Answer: Clearing an app cache can help when temporary data is causing loading or playback problems. It should be treated as a troubleshooting step, not a replacement for checking your playlist, network, storage, or app version.

When Should You Clear TiviMate Cache?#

Consider clearing cache when TiviMate becomes unusually slow, freezes while loading, or behaves differently after repeated use. If only one playlist fails, troubleshoot that playlist before resetting the whole app.

Clear Cache Without Clearing App Data#

On Android TV or Fire TV, open the device's application settings, select TiviMate, and look for the storage options. Choose Clear cache rather than Clear data when you want to remove temporary files without intentionally resetting the app.

Cache vs Data#

These are not the same. Clearing cache removes temporary data. Clearing app data can reset local application state and may require you to configure TiviMate again. Avoid clearing data until you know you have the playlist URLs or credentials needed to recover your setup.

If Clearing Cache Did Not Help#

  1. Restart the TV device.
  2. Check your internet connection.
  3. Refresh the playlist.
  4. Update EPG data if the guide is affected.
  5. Check available storage.
  6. Test another channel or playlist.
